Steel-Type

Cufant #0878

The pre-evolution of Copperajah. Cufant's body is made of copper and the tip of its trunk is shaped like a shovel, making it great option for construction workers.

Cufants typically weigh around 220.5lbs (100kg), which isn't too bad for a Steel Type or for their size. The problem is their evolution, Copperajah. Copperajah can be nearly 10 feet tall and around 1433.0lbs (650.0kg), making them an unmanageable size for most trainers., especially considering the grooming needed to keep them from tarnishing.

Cufants are common in Paldea and Galar, but are not native to either region. They're imported from [UNNAMED REGION] to work with us humans! They have a great work ethic and are very easy to train. They're great construction workers and can even work as Service Pokémon!

Food

Unlike most Steel Type Pokémon, Cufants do not eat metal shavings and instead prefer rocks and ores they dig out of the ground with their trunks. Rock and ore based Poké food isn't difficult to get though, so their diet shouldn't be much of a problem.

Grooming and Maintenance

Cufant and it's evolution are susceptible to rusting. I suggest looking at my guide to tarnish and rust care. Copper also oxidizes, causing the tealish coloring that Cufants are known for. It's odd that the oxidization is focused on such specific spots, but it is what it is I guess!

Cufant would be a perfect starter 'mon if it wasn't for their evolution. Copperajah is just too big for me to be able to reccomend new trainers getting a Cufant, even with an everstone. I will give it points for just how useful they can be both in industrial settings and for how good they can be as Service Pokémon.
