A small Q & A style page with common questions about steel type pokémon and my life as a gym leader!
Pokémon
- Q. What do steel type pokémon eat?
A. It depends on the pokémon! For example,
Magnemite don't eat physical food at all, they charge, while
Steelix eat iron-rich soil! Steel types' strange diets make them a bit more difficult to shop for than other pokémon types, but many can enjoy pokétreats and kibble (though, often not as an alternative to their usual diets!).
- Q. Are steel types good starters?
A. For the most part, no. There are some good starters, such as
Magnemite and
Klefki, but with steel types' required upkeep and strange diets, I'd personally suggest going with a more traditional starter. Taking care of a pokémon is a serious job and shouldn't be taken lightly!
- Q. What are some good battle strategies for steel type?
A. This website isn't about battle and there are plenty of websites with battle strategies available to you. Also, I'm bad at explaining battle strategies. Please ask someone else!
The Gym
A. Yes! I am Unova's newest Gym Leader; my Gym is in Anville Town!
A. As part of the Gym Challenge, you can either show up at any time and anticipate a wait, or you can call ahead and schedule a battle! For for-fun battles, I suggest scheduling an appointment, otherwise I'll favor Gym Challengers when it comes to who I'll battle first.
- Q. When is your Gym open?
A. 10am to 4pm Mon-Thurs and Saturday.
- Q. How did you become a Gym Leader?
A. Honestly, I specialized in a more uncommon type and became decent at battling. My interest in education definitely helped my case, as well as my ability to hold back in battles. It's not well known, but Gym Leaders aren't going all out against Gym Challengers, and we alter our battle strategies to match how far in the challenge someone is. I'd battle someone with 1 badge way differently than someone who has all the other badges, for example.
